Verna Irene Croft

On Thursday July 16, 2020 Verna Irene Croft left her earthly body to begin her eternal life in heaven. Verna was retired from the Polk County Sheriff's Department and enjoyed spending time with her family and doting on her precious grandson Jensen. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and June Steward, her sister Dorene Hineline, and her granddaughter Marissa Hewett. She is survived by her devoted husband Larry Croft (Lakeland), her daughters Brandy Simpson (Plant City), and Lisa Croft (Lakeland), her son Timothy Croft (Lakeland), granddaughters Krista Todd (Bartow), and Kayla Hewett (Broken Bow, Ok), grandson Jensen Opatt (Lakeland) and great granddaughter Kinzleigh Todd(Bartow). Due to current medical climate and an abundance of caution the family will be having a private graveside service.
