Tina Marie Meeks

Lakeland– Tina Marie Meeks, was born January 4, 1968, in Lakeland, FL to Vernon and Scarlet Meeks. Tina passed from this life August 17, 2018, at the age of 50 years.

Tina was a graduate of Santa Fe Catholic High School. She went on to attend Florida Southern College, Saint Leo University, and Loyola University. Her studies culminated into achievement of a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree while also being a member of the varsity cheerleading team at Tulane University. She was a member of the Polk County School system for numerous years. Her devotion to serving disabled children was a true representation of both her caring heart and God’s love. She was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick. She loved nature, reading, and volunteering.

Tina is survived by her mother, Scarlet Meeks; son, Mark Barrios; sisters, Deborah Meeks, Angela Curran and Susan Kent; nephews and nieces, Nathan Johnson, Nicole Lickfold, Sean Curran, Scott Curran, Katie Curran, and Cole Davis.

Visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, August 27, 2018, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
