Shirley M Hyde

Shirley Mae Hyde was born in Canton, Ga on August 3rd 1935 and passed onto to her Heavenly home on November 29th, 2022 in Lakeland, Florida. She was the daughter of Lee and Mary Ezell of Canton, Ga. She was married to Gene Hyde on Dec 22, 1951 until his death in 2004. She was the mother of 4 children, June Hyde Hargraves married to Tony Hargraves of Lakeland, James Earl Hyde married to Cathy Hyde of Lakeland, Dewell Hyde of Lakeland who passed away in 2016 and David Hyde married to Veronica(Ronni) Hyde of Jefferson City, Tenn. Shirley had 11 grandchildren, Justin Hutchinson, Kohle Hargraves and wife Courtney, Autumn Kennedy and husband Chad, Shay Cattery and husband Jonathan, Melissa Gormley and husband Ryan, Amy Blake and husband Adam, Cheyenne Sito and husband Derek, Brandon Hyde and wife Sophia, Kelsey Jenkins and husband Travis, Gus Hyde and wife Hannah and Rose Hyde. Shirley also had 18 great grandchildren. Shirley worked in partnership with her husband Gene along with their 4 children and built a trucking firm (Gene Hyde Trucking) from 1 truck to 145 trucks and was a Lakeland success story which employed over 180 people. Shirley’s heart was to Love and Serve her family. She was a dedicated Christian wife, mother and business leader. She loved to cook and travel. She was a proud member of her Church – New Home Baptist Church.

Services will be held at New Home Baptist Church, 901 N. Galloway Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Visitation from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM.
