Rosemarie Burda

Rose Burda, 92, of Lakeland, Florida joined our Father in heaven on September 4, 2021, surrounded by her family, friends, and her faith.  Rose was born in Manhattan in 1929.  Her family later moved to Daytona Beach, Florida where she met Al Burda. They were united in Holy Matrimony and this union was blessed with five daughters and eight grandchildren.

Rose enjoyed her early career as an administrative assistant for a CPA in Lakeland.  She was involved in the Republican Women's Club of Lakeland, volunteering to work the election polls. She had a special appreciation for the beauty of trees and flowers and was a member of the Lakeland Garden Club.  A few of her favorite things included telling detailed stories about her children and grandchildren, walking Lake Hollingsworth daily, feeding the ducks at Lake Morton, weekly hair appointments at the beauty salon and meeting up with her girlfriends, affectionately known as “The Crazy Eights.”   Her New York City roots always had her dreaming of being a Rockette which brought on her love of all kinds of dance as well as enjoying the performing arts.  Rose did not know a stranger and could have a long conversation with all who were fortunate enough to listen and learn from her.

Rose was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she served faithfully through the Catholic Women’s Club for years.  She donated to Catholic charities. She was a firm believer in the power of St. Jude, St. Anthony, and most importantly the Blessed Mother, praying the rosary daily. 

Mom is remembered with love by Diane Burda, Sharon & Danny Schneider, Lorraine & Martin Bedick, Lisa & Jerry Stoltenberg and Gretchen Burda along with grandchildren, Beau, Rachel, Bobby, Andrew, Jack, Jennifer, Parker, Olivia and her beloved cat Angelina. She taught us to believe in our guardian angels and now she is a very special guardian angel to each of us.  She will be in our hearts and minds forever.  

A memorial Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday September 25th at 10:30 am at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 210 West Lemon St. Lakeland, FL followed by interment of ashes at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2125 S Bartow Hwy, Lakeland, FL. All welcome to join.
