Rafael A. Garay, 93, passed away on July 21st, 2022. He was the widower of Enelia Perez. They shared 54 years of marriage together.
Born in Camaguey, Cuba on March 23rd, 1929, he was the fourth of sixteen children of Enrique Garay and Maria Crespo.
He was an independent truck driver throughout most of his life and worked for Perez Trucking before retiring at the age of 72.
He enjoyed getting together with his family, telling jokes and stories, playing dominoes, and watching the news and his favorite television shows.
Rafael was a kind, honest, caring, charitable, and hard working man. He will be long remembered and deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his daughter Grisel, son-in-law Jimmy, grandchildren Cristina and Daniel, and his siblings Ruben, Amado, Conrado, Orlando, Rosa and Conchita.
The funeral service and viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens from 12pm to 3pm.
