Penny Lynn Bennett, 57, departed this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at her home with her family after a courageous and graceful fight with cancer.
Penny was born October 11, 1961, in Winter Haven, Florida to Gene and Glennis Harrison. She attended Bartow Senior High School. She met the love of her life and soulmate, Tony Bennett, in 1983, and they were married in 1985. They raised their precious daughter, Morgan, in Lakeland and were very happily married for 33 wonderful years.
Penny loved her job as an account manager at OneBlood, where she encouraged many to “be an angel” and save lives by giving blood. She brought so much joy to her coworkers and every person who stepped onto her “blood bus.” Her favorite place was the beach, where she would sunbathe with a good book, walk hand-in-hand with her beloved husband, and watch the beautiful sunsets.
Penny was beloved by many. She brightened every room she entered with her contagious and positive energy, unpretentious friendliness, and compassionate love. She was a beautiful woman, full of life, full of grace. She is a beloved daughter of God, still alive in Christ, who we will rejoice to see again.
Penny is survived and dearly missed by her parents, Gene and Glennis Harrison; husband, Tony Bennett; daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and Michael Lindsay; sisters, Jenny Dooling and Tracy Woodard; and brothers, Dennis and Tim Harrison.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, 4777 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, Florida 33813. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland.
