Niobe B. Rivers, 89, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2022. Niobe was born April 3, 1933, in Camden, New Jersey to George and Freida Frame. Married 66 years to her devoted husband Harold who pre-deceased Niobe in 2018 they raised three daughters. Originally from the Delaware Valley area she most recently lived in Crystal River near her family. The family moved quite often and traveled extensively. Niobe had traveled to 64 countries and widely in the United States. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. working for many years as a credit supervisor for Sears credit card. Together Niobe and Harold retired to Lakeland Florida, where they were residents for 22 years and volunteered with the Elks and their church. Niobe was very creative. Her homes were eclectic and modern. She sewed her own prom and wedding dress and created and sewed Halloween costumes for her grandsons. She made her own clothes, family clothes, and sewed and created interior designs. Niobe sewed for the ministry at her church repairing and renewing donated clothing.

Known as “the Queen” of our family her main focus and loving concern was always to make sure everyone was healthy, safe, and happy.

Niobe is remembered by her loving family, April and husband Denis McLaughlin of Beverly Hills Florida, Robin and husband Thomas Kelly of Blackwood NJ, Holly and husband Mark Lehberger of Parker CO, grandsons, Cory McLaughlin and wife Kari McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, Rece Lehberger and great grandson, Conrad Harold McLaughlin. She is also survived by her younger sister, Yvonne Craig of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
