Minnie Alice Lanier, 81
Minnie was born on August 23rd, 1940 in Calf Creek, KY to James and Fannie Garrett. She moved to Lakeland in 1985. She heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord!” as she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 12th, 2021. For her entire life, she exemplified what it means to be Christ-like.
She was the most selfless, humble, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that always put the needs of others above her own. She was a faithful member at Bethany Free Will Baptist church for nearly 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marjorie Keener, and brother, Jim Garrett.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny Lanier; Sons, Marshall Lanier and Greg (Tracy) Lanier; Grandchildren, Chad Keener, Ashley Lanier Dennis, Chase (Sarah) Keener, Tanika (Jacob) Phillips-Taylor, Chance (Ashley) Keener, and Cody Lanier; Siblings, Richard Garrett, Mary (Larry) James, Carol (Dwight) Skeans, Pat (Jerry) Smith, Marty (Linda) Garrett, and Jackie Lewis. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday September 18th, 2021 at 12:30pm with service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
The service will be officiated by Rev. Dwight Skeans and Rev. Chase Keener.
