Marvin Eugene Taylor, 80, of Auburndale, FL passed away May 26, 2018. He was born May 3, 1938 in Anderson, IN to parents William and Laura Taylor.
He proudly served in the US Air Force. After his service he was a firefighter with the Anderson Fire Department rising to the rank of Deputy Chief. After moving to Florida in 1988 he worked for Spaulding/Star Press before joining Publix in their Signage and Cabinetry department until his retirement. In his free time, Marvin was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed fishing and car racing, as well as being a member of the Senior Softball team for more than 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his father William Taylor; mother Laura Wehner; and brother Gene Edwin Taylor. Left to treasure Marvin’s memories is his wife Sharon; sons Scott Taylor (Meredith) and Monty Taylor; grandchildren Jordan Taylor and MaKinlei Gunter; sisters Linda Lamb (Audrey) and Debra Wehner; brothers David Wehner (Deemia) and Danny Wehner (Kay); brother-in-law Eston Rohr; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 12-1PM on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Lakeland Funeral Home. A funeral service with Military Honors will follow the visitation.
