Margaret June Erickson

April 14, 1949 ~ May 18, 2023 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Margaret J. Erickson, “Peggy” (74) went home to the Lord on May 18, 2023 surrounded by family in Lakeland, Florida. She was a loving mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, cousin, friend and nurse. If anyone needed help, she never ceased to give it.

Peggy was a very skilled and compassionate nurse for over 40 years. She made friends wherever she went. Her love was shown through everything she did.

She was born in Queens, NY and you can tell she had a lot of spark to her. She had many convictions and fought for everyone she loved. She may have lived in Lakeland, Fl. for the past 23 years, but Homer Glen, IL. is the place she called “home”.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Arthur A. Ubbens Sr, June E. Ubbens and brother Arthur A. Ubbens Jr.

She was survived by so much family; her husband John Rodney Erickson “Rod”, Children: John R. Erickson (wife Christina and children Madeline, Rylee, and Jack), Chad Erickson, Stacey Sayger (husband Brian and children Mariah, Dakota, Jacob and Emily), Jason Erickson (wife Jaime and children Reese, Lucas, Grayson, and Easton); Kristin King (husband John and children Jakson, Gavin and Ryan); and step-children Gretchen Erickson (son Max) and Rebecca Morrow (Daughters Leah and Alexa); Sister Evelyn Houston, and brothers JohnUbbens(Daughter Kerry) and Edward Ubbens (wife Marybeth and children Michael, Mark and Michelle).

Her legacy lives on in all of them. May she rest in Peace. “It may take one mother to care for seven children, but seven children to care for one mother.” -unknown. “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever."

The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 25, 2023, 3pm to 8pm at Richard J. Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 12641 W. 143rd Street continuing on Friday, May 26, 2023 for a Chapel Service 9:45am.
