Linda Seal Brown, 81, of Auburndale, passed from this life on Thursday, December 2, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 29, 1940, in Miami, Florida, to J.O and Sarah Ruth Johns.
She grew up with her five sisters in Miami, Florida, and was very involved in service to the ministry. She met and married Reverend J. Michael Seal of Silsbee, Texas. Together they pastored and started many new churches in their 57 years of marriage. Linda’s greatest joy was in serving and helping others. Cooking, baking, entertaining, gift wrapping, crafting, and directing weddings were just a few of her many gifts. She loved her large extended family, and spending time together with them were treasured moments.
In 2018 after the passing of her husband, Mike, she moved to Lakeland, Florida, to be close to her family.
Again, she was very involved in her local church using her many talents, baking, helping the senior group, and being “Mamu” to everyone. There she met and married Bill Brown, a longtime church member. Bill and Linda enjoyed their time together dining out and enjoying concerts before his unexpected death earlier this year.
She touched many lives in her 81 years with great faith, kindness, and hospitality. She was known for her Fried Chicken, Deviled Eggs, Banana Bread, Almond Bars, and Hummingbird Cake, to name a few. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought special joy in her final years, and those times were cherished.
Survivors include her children Dawn McGuire and her husband, Reverend Kelly McGuire, of Lakeland, Florida and Dean Seal, of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Jared McGuire and his wife, Tiffany, of Lakeland, Florida and Kayla Randolph of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Ella McGuire, Ian McGuire, Ava Joy McGuire, Cohen Randolph, and Sylvie Randolph; sisters, Laverne Johns, of Hialeah, Florida, Phyllis Callaway and her husband, Tommy, of Seymour, Tennessee, Wanda Nevils and her husband Dave, of Winter Garden, Florida, Denise Crabtree and her husband Allen, of Panama City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Geraldine Drake.
A gathering of Linda Seal Brown’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m. with her funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Grace Pointe Church, 8250 Highway 98 North, Lakeland, Florida, under the directions of Lakeland Funeral Home.
