Lila D Bassette

Lila Dawn (Shiffler) Bassette, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Lila was born on March 21, 1960, in Greenville, TN to Robert Gordon Shiffler and Betty Jo (Mason) Shiffler, both now deceased. Lila has lived in Florida for 60 years and in Lakeland for the past 45 years.

Lila loved the Lord and reveled in the beauty of His creation. She loved children, animals, cooking, music and all types of crafts, particularly crocheting. She was a kind and compassionate soul who lived to serve others. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained faithful to the end.

Lila left behind her older brother, Robert Gordon Shiffler, Jr. (and family) in North Carolina, her two younger sisters Darla Precious Evers and Selina Sean Fontaine (and their families), all in Lakeland, and her loving husband of 22 years Gregory Atwood Bassette, also in Lakeland.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 5850 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL 33813. The viewing will be from 5:00-6:30pm and the memorial service will follow at 7:00pm.
