Message from Aaron Elliott, nephew of Juanita McQueen

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear Aunt Juanita. She was a kind person who always welcomed me and others into her home for a visit, greeting us with a warm smile at the door. Her acts of kindness went beyond that. For example, after I moved overseas, for years, she sent me newspaper clippings of local news and sports stories. (Oh how she loved her sports, even when her favorite teams let her down.) The news from home kept me informed, but more importantly, it reminded me that despite living far away, I was still in her thoughts. A simple act, but such a warm gesture. Remembering her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in all of our hearts. Though I am not able to be there, please know that you are all in my thoughts.

Aunt Juanita will be dearly missed, many childhood memories shared with her and uncle Paul. I can’t be there but I am in prayers for the family. A special thanks to Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary for taking wonderful care of Aunt Juanita. Much love, Eva (niece)
