Juanita “Nean” Fern Quick Garrett
Juanita Garrett age 82 died peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 7:48 pm on Nov. 10, 2020 in Lakeland, Fl. She was the wife of Rev. Charles Richard Garrett for 65 years.
Juanita was born in Blackfork, OH on September 25, 1938.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Calvin and Mary “Brewer” Quick, three brothers, Jackie, Edward, and Monty Quick, her son, Charles R. Garrett Jr. (Rick), a daughter, Colleen Downs, one grandson and one great grandson.
Juanita is survived by her husband Rev. Charles Richard Garrett, daughter, Peggy (Kelly) Spivey of Jacksonville, AL, daughter, Deanna (George) Edwards of Somerset, KY, ten grandchildren, and 32 great and great-great grandchildren. Three brother; John Quick, Covnneauville, PA, Clyde (Janet) Quick, Jonesborough, TN, Russell (Pat) Quick, Bristol, TN. Four sisters; Sharon (Jimmy) Jacobs, Port St. John, FL, Shirley (Jim) Davis, Rockledge, FL, Erma Quick, Polk City, FL, and Naomi (Jeff) Marshall, Rockledge, FL.
Juanita was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and M-I-L. Throughout the years she also devoted her life to gospel singing and spent several years as lead singer for The Family Four Gospel Singers, traveling to many states singing for the Lord.
She will be sorely missed but her legacy and the example she has set will last for many years to come.
Services will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Friday November 13, 2020. Visitation from 2-3PM,
Service at 3 PM.
