Juan Antonio Arroyo, 88, of Polk City, FL went to be with the Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 17, 2023, surrounded by his family in his home. Juan was born October 20, 1934 in Lares, Puerto Rico to parents Edelmerido Gerena-Arroyo and Antonia Mendez.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland, FL. Juan retired from the Housing Authority as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a beloved Christian father, a faithful servant of the Lord covering many Catholic Church’s throughout the State of Florida, loved to tinker at home, and was an advocate of recycling. Juan was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia Margarita Velez Ruiz, daughter Gloria Arroyo and granddaughter Jacquelne Amy Padilla. He is survived by his children Wanda, Eunice, Maritza, Sandra, Juan Jr., Raquel, Brenda and Diana, 18 Grandchildren, 23 Greatgrandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland, FL followed with a Mass Service by Father David officiating from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Live Streamed). A procession will lead Juan to Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Lakeland, FL for a graveside service immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the funds go to the upkeep of the Spiritual/Meditation Garden at his home which he held close to his heart. Make checks payable to Sandra Arroyo and in the Memo write Garden Maintenance.
