Jewel Katherine Gilland Veilleux

Lakeland - J. Katherine Gilland Veilleux, 81, passed away at home on August 26, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born to Roy and Gertrude Elvington in Lake View, SC. She lived many years in Lakeland, Florida working for the City of Lakeland. Kathy loved her family, friends, church, and her friends at Foxwood.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Grace Cook (Buddy) of Virginia Beach, VA, her sons Shawn Gilland of Lakeland, Harold Hubbard of Jacksonville, Giovanni Gilland (Beth) of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren Amanda, Adam, Haleigh, Josh, Priscilla, Kyle, Kaitlin, Josh, Ashley, Courtney, Amber, and Shelby and great grandchildren Kayleigh, River, Dylan, and Kynsli. She is preceded in death by Thomas Gilland, Paul Veilleux, Michael Hubbard, and Clayton Hubbard.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 2 pm, on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Following the service the family will have a private ceremony in the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Kathy's memory to Moffitt Cancer Center or to Parkview Baptist Church.
