Jerry Keith (J.K.) Snowden passed away of natural causes on April 8, 2021 in Lakeland, Florida. He was survived by his four children Randy (Janet) Snowden, Pamela (Mike) Sahlbom, Melanee (Terry) Davis, Scott (Raquel) Snowden, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his sister, Janis Gregston.  He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDene, in 2016.  

Jerry Snowden was born on December 12,1926 in Kadoka, South Dakota to O.O. (Jack) Snowden and Irma Thompson Snowden. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after World War II with the rank of Sergeant in the Medical Corp. After serving, he worked with his father in the Highway Construction industry. In March of 1949 he married LaDene Saxton.  In the 1950’s they moved into the Escanaba, Michigan area to raise their children. 

Jerry became president of Snowden Inc. in 1964.  He was an active member of the Michigan Road Builders Association and was one of the first sub-contractors to be awarded a Directorship in the organization.   He was a very active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving in many capacities from the local to the international level.  Jerry sponsored over 35 children and teens so they could receive a Christian education. 

In the late 1990’s Jerry and LaDene purchased a home in Lakeland Florida where he resided full time for last three years of his life. Jerry’s legacy carries on in his children and grandchildren in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ’s Second Coming.

A memorial service is planned for the near future in Escanaba, Michigan.
