James passed away peacefully with his children and younger sister by his side on January 9, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Health. James was born in Tuscaloosa, AL to Herman and Shirley Wise on August 29, 1960. James moved his family to Mulberry, FL where he served his community by coaching Mulberry Dixie Youth baseball and softball teams for many years. James was an avid sports enthusiast and loved watching the Alabama Crimson Tide, Atlanta Braves, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. James is predeceased by his parents, Herman and Shirley, and his older sister Barbara Shaw. James is survived by his children Nicole Moore (Heath), Keri Wise (Josh Goralczyk), James Wise Jr., and Rebecca Kader (Barron); as well as his younger sister Linda Schmitz (Chris), younger brother Richard Wise, brother-in-law Michael Shaw and several grandchildren he loved dearly – Cale, Stetson, Hudson, Willow, Parker, Brylee, Decker and many nieces and nephews. A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
