James L. Kolb, 84, passed away on July 21, 2018, at his residence. Born in Charleston, South Carolina on February 16, 1934. He came to Lakeland in 1946, from Paris Island where his father retired from the Marines after serving 22 years. He graduated from Lakeland High School, the best years of his life. He joined the Air Force serving four years, one year in Korea in the 50’s and also served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Methodist, a Veteran with a disability from Korea a Mason and a member of the American Legion. He retired from Florida Tile after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
He will be buried at Lakeland Memorial Gardens with his family. There will be no formal services.
