Your entire family is in my prayers, I am very sorry for your loss. I look back on my years playing football as some of the best experiences of my life. They were made possible and the memories were so great in large part to coach Butts. He never made it seem like "he got stuck with the girl". He made me feel like I was part of the team and part of his family. He yelled at coaches and refs more than once for late hits and bad calls against me. I will never forget the impact he had on my life.

I cant even put into words. My heart just aches. I am so so so so sad for Ruth and the children and beautiful grand children. You were the hard headed crazy man I always looked forward to seeing, I cant believe youre gone too soon. We will miss you more than youd ever have known.
