Lakeland – Mr. Jack Vernon Harrison, 81, passed away on December 7, 2021, after a long battle with cancer, he had his loving wife Juanita and his daughters by his side. Jack was born August 31, 1940, in Greer, SC and moved to Florida with his parents and siblings when he was 9 years old.
He met the love of his entire life, Juanita Reynolds while they were in elementary school. They were happily married June 19, 1960, and together they built a wonderful life for 61 years! After receiving a letter from is in-laws that said, “HELP” they moved to Bonita Springs, FL to help grow citrus trees. Later on, Jack took a job with GAC Corp in Golden Gate as a shop foreman; he went on to driving dump trucks until he got his own tractor to start his very successful business, Harrison Tractor Service. Many years later they moved to Naples, FL and built a two-story house right on Oaks Blvd. where he walked all 3 daughters down the stairs to be married. Over 2 decades later they sold this family-built home and moved back to Lakeland to connect with family and friends. Dancing and listening to country music at the local clubs was a favorite past time of theirs, as so many of their friends are like extended family. Jack had a special way about him! He loved unconditionally, always had a smile on his face and was there to help in any way he could. He loved his family!
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Juanita; his children Denise, Brenda (Bob), Bonnie (Kevin); his cherished grandchildren Daniel, Dillon, Bobby (Heather), Jesse (Jessica), Rhina, Billy, and Kylee; and his beautiful great-grandchildren Aliyah, Wyatt, Mabel, Owen, Marlena, Lillie Jo and Jesse Mack. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, siblings- a few, and loved extended family. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10am, followed by a celebration of life at 11am, on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
