Irene Willoughby

Irene F. Willoughby, 85, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She was born to Henry and Dorothy Van Doorn in Greene, NY. She was a devoted wife of 48 years to Harvey Willoughby, who preceded her in death. She lived many years in Lakeland, FL working and retiring from Publix. She will be fondly remembered for her service to GOD, her selflessness when it came to family and friends, and for the thousands of incredible cookies she baked over the years to remind everyone of how much they were loved.

Irene is survived by her sister Helen Wilkerson, four brothers: John, Roger, Gerald and James Van Doorn, four children: Cindy Schumacher, Harvey Willoughby (COL USMCR), Candy Waite and Matt Willoughby (COL U.S. Army), 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812.
