HANNAH RUTH BATES

Hannah Ruth Bates, age 93, passed away on September 14, 2023, in Lakeland, FL. She was a loving, patient, and kind wife, mother and grandmother. Hannah dedicated her life to serving her Lord and others. She had a special love for children and spent countless hours caring for, teaching, and training them. Hannah volunteered with Child Evangelism Fellowship, where she taught Good News Clubs to thousands of children. For 67 years she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida, where she served as the head of the children's ministry for many years. Alongside her husband, who was a deacon in the church, she served in various ministries, impacting the lives of children, teens, adults, and senior citizens. Her life truly exemplified the qualities of a Proverbs 31 woman. Now, Hannah rejoices in heaven with her loving Savior and Lord.

Hannah is survived by her children: Sharon (Tim) Robson, Timothy (Carol) Bates, Mark (Donna) Bates, Joanie (Mike) Odum, and Greg (Tracy) Bates. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. Hannah was predeceased by her husband, Cleve Bates, her parents, Joseph and Katie Houseman, and her siblings.

The funeral service for Hannah Ruth Bates will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Missions Program in Lakeland, Florida. Hannah's impact on the lives of others will continue through these charitable donations.
