Gloria M. Ray, 86, of Lakeland, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 14, 1935 to Carl and Miriam Larsh.
Gloria worked as a bookkeeper for many years and retired as a Timekeeper for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a long-time member of Lakes Church (formally Church at the Mall) and enjoyed her Sunday School class. Gloria loved to play the piano, so much that she replaced her dining room furniture with a grand piano. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. What Gloria loved the most was her family, every moment spent with her family was a precious memory.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray.
Gloria is survived by her children, Terry (Dana) Gaddis Monnett, Scott (Tina) Gaddis, Lisa (Scott)Ray Jones; grandchildren, Angela (Matthew) Monnett Baumgart, Jennifer Monnett Lavoine, Tony (Sunshine) Monnett, Jeremy (Tiffany) Monnett, Jesse Monnett, Emmalee Monnett, Michael (Brittany) Gaddis, Dana Gaddis, Joseph (Alexis) Jones, David (Heather) Jones, Caleb Jones; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Kathaleen) Larsh.
A Celebration of Life will be at Lakeland Funeral Home on Friday June 3, 2022. Visitation from 10 AM -11 AM, Celebration at 11 AM.
Gloria’s favorite color was blue and in her memory Gloria’s family will be wearing blue to the Celebration of Life, and they invite guests to also wear blue for Gloria.
