George Phillips

George Bill Phillips, 82, of Lakeland, passed away on March 4, 2021. He was born in Sparta, NC on August 27, 1938 to the late George and Ruby Phillips.

George served 23 ½ years in the Air Force. He worked for NSA and retired as an E-8. After the military, George worked for the United States Postal service for over 20 years. His family was his greatest accomplishment. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Phillips; son, Kurt (Kathy) Phillips; grandchildren, Derek (Katie) Phillips, Amanda (Michael) Phillips, Kyle Phillips; great-grandchildren, Landon, Cooper, Luke; brother Lester Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Phillips and sister, Sally Caudill.

Services will be held on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 10 AM- 11 AM, service at 11 AM.
