Francis William Lang, 93, of Lakeland Florida, passed away on February 25, 2020 in Lakeland, Florida after a brief illness.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM March 4, 2020 at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow at Wauchula Cemetery in Wauchula, FL. Arrangements are by Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
Francis was born in West Milan NH to Perley and Helen (Leighton) Lang on October 11, 1926. He attended school in Milan NH. He remarried Pauline Jones in Wauchula FL after his first wife, Muriel’s passing. He worked as a foreman/lineman high line work for Hoosier Engineering in the Mid-West and Seward Construction in the North East for a total of 14 years. He owned and operated a garage in Candia NH for 10 years before moving to Florida in 1971, where Francis owned and operated a garage in Wauchula FL and was the owner operator of Lang Investments for the remainder of his years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Army. He was a Shriner and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Francis received a number of awards for his poetry and was fond of telling old stories and a good joke or two.
Francis is preceded in death by his wife Muriel (Lindsay) Lang, son, Alan Lang of Florida and all 12 of his brothers and sisters from NH.
Francis is survived by his second wife, Pauline Lang, son Harvey Lang and wife Tracy of Lakeland FL, former daughter-in-law’s Beverly Romonovich of Clearwater FL, Sandra Morgan of Candia NH, Grandsons Francis W. Lang II of Miami FL, Richard Lang of Rochester NH, Corey Lang of Lakeland FL, Grand-Daughters Karen Greene of Colorado, Wendy Coderre of Auburn NH, Tracy Martin of Raymond NH, many great grandchildren; Ben, Sam,Josiah, Hanna, Brandy, Ryan, Zachary, Breanna, Nevaeh, Desiree and Kaylin and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Good Shepherd Hospice House 3450 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland Florida 33805
