On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Rev. Edgar A Trinklein, was welcomed into his eternal home at the age of 88. He spent his life serving his Lord both in the church and as a loving father at home and now is rejoicing in his heavenly home.
Ed was born on January 27, 1933 in White Hall, TX to Rev. Louis and Lillian Trinklein. Ed made the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps at the early age of 6 when his father asked Ed what he wanted to be when he grew up. This was shortly before Ed’s father passed away. He fulfilled his promise and spent his life serving his Lord and Savior as pastor in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for over 40 years. He married Carol Dandanell on June 14, 1958, the same year he began his ministry. His first call was to serve as assistant pastor at Trinity, Orlando, FL until 1960, then he moved on to be head pastor at Faith in Marietta, GA. In 1982 he and his wife came to Lakeland, FL and he served as Administrative Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran until his retirement. He also served in many capacities in the Florida-Georgia District, including Vice-President and interim President. Even after his retirement he continued to serve other congregations along with St. Paul in various ways.
He is survived by his three children Lynn (Mike) Zeddies, Paul (Tracy) Trinklein, Beth (Ben) Witten; his seven grandchildren Brooke (Rob), Daniel (Jill), Josh (Jess), Jonathan (Grace), Rachel, Danielle and Nicholas; and great-grandchild Cato. He is predeceased by his wife Carol.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5-7PM at the Lakeland Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will take place 10:30AM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Harden Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
