Douglas “Doug” Faircloth, 75, of Lakeland, FL passed away on October 26, 2018. Doug was born June 21, 1943, in Lake City, FL to Leroy and Margaret Faircloth. Doug was a lifelong resident of Florida, graduating in 1961 from Avon Park High School and served nine years in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Most recently, Doug worked as the Operations Manager for AAA Cooper Transportation, retiring in 2010 after 27 years on the job. Doug was a committed husband, father and grandfather (Pappy). In his spare time, Doug enjoyed tinkering in his shed, watching football and golf, playing Gran Turismo, bass fishing and most of all spending time with and helping out his family and friends in any way he could.
A dedicated family man, Doug is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his daughter Holly (Darrin) Laughlin, and his five grandchildren – Blayten, Austin, Cameron, Peyton and Elizabeth. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Margaret, his sister Molly Shawver and his son Jason.
A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, immediately followed by a funeral service on Saturday, November, 3, at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens ,2125 South Bartow Hwy, Lakeland, FL 33801.
