Jean (Doris) Stanley passed away Sunday June 5th 2022, at Good Shepard Hospice House, she was 92 years young. Jean was born September 12, 1929 to James Hilty and Mary (Frampton) Hilty in Newton Falls Ohio. On November 6,1950 she married Glenn Furmon Stanley. They were married for 59 years before his passing on February 17,2009.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister Merial Hilty Price of West Farmington, Ohio, her brother James Claire Hilty (Diana) of Murphy, North Carolina. She is also survived by her children Patricia Stanley of Seffner, Fl and Robert Glenn Stanley (Laura) with whom she lived with in Lakeland Fl. Jean is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) of Blythewood, South Carolina, Janelle (Jimmy) Hinson of Lexington, South Carolina and Gary Segale of San Jose California. Jean also had 5 bonus grandchildren Rebecca (Micah) Shahbas, Jonathan Peach and Chris Peach all of St Petersburg, Fl, Blake Henderson of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Ryan Henderson of Lakeland, Fl. Jean was blessed with 10 greatgrandchildren.
Jean was an active member of Haines City Christian Church where she served as a member of the diaconate, an elder and the chair of various committees.
Jean and Glenn loved to travel and visited all 50 states, two of their favorite trips were a camping trip to Alaska and a tour of Hawaii on their 50th wedding anniversary.
The celebration of life for Jean will be held at First Christian Church of Haines City 705 South 14th St. Haines City, Fl 33884 on Saturday, June 25th at 11:30. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Christian Church of Haines City, Salvation Army, Mission 22 or Just One Vets”6” Inc.
