Debra M. Griffin

Debra Marsh "Debbie" Griffin, age 68, a resident of Lakeland, FL passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Health, due to complications of Covid. Debbie was surrounded by her family.  Debbie was born August 18, 1953 in East Liverpool, OH to Dick and Marjorie Marsh. 

Her family moved to Arcadia, FL in 1959 to be near her grandparents George and Belle Marsh.  Then her family moved to Lakeland in 1960 where she lived the rest of her life.  After graduating from Lakeland High School in 1971, she worked in local pharmacies as a pharmacy technician.  She worked for K-mart pharmacy for nearly 25 years and she has been working for Publix for the last 15 years with the last several years at the corporate office. Debbie was a kind, friendly, fun-loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend to all that knew her.  She never met a stranger and she had a way of welcoming people, putting them at ease.  Debbie truly cared about others and she was involved with walks/fundraising for March of Dimes for many years.  Debbie could be found most weekends watching her granddaughters playing soccer and volleyball or just enjoying time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew her and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her father Richard "Dick" Marsh, her newborn brother Richard C. Marsh, Jr. and great niece Kennedy Marsh and great nephew Jaxon Marsh. 

She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 35 years, Gene Griffin; her mother Marjorie Marsh; her daughter Brandi Hunter and husband Ian; brother Jody Marsh and wife Katie; brother Richard G. Marsh and wife Tina; two grandchildren, Jenna Daniel and Jessica Daniel; and her nieces and nephews Ryan Marsh, Matt Marsh and wife Jade, Brooke Farr and husband Jason and great nephew Paul, Stephanie Beatty and husband Clayton, great nephew Austin and Grant Marsh and great niece Amelia.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Debbie Marsh Griffin to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org


Masks will be required for those attending.
