Christine Stephenson

Christine Stephenson passed away peacefully at Grace Manor Suites, August 4, 2018 at 92 years of age.
She was born in Medulla, FL, the daughter of Perry and Evelyn Gray. A native of Lakeland, she lived most of her life in Woodall's Mobile Home Village. Christine loved dancing, going to be with her friends at the Magnolia Building, playing bingo, putting puzzles together and traveling. Her biggest dream was to become a nurse, which she fulfilled in her 40's and worked 25 years for Lakeland Regional Hospital. She was a long time member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother RT Gray; and her husband of 68 years Howard Stephenson. Christine is survived by her loving daughter Bobbie (Larry) Burd; granddaughters Lisa (Ronnie) Vogt, Carol (Joe) Henderson and Gina (Johnathan) Riley; 6 great-grandsons and 1 great-great-grandson.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful ladies at Grace Manor Suites who cared for her daily, Melissa the Good Shepherd Hospice nurse who watched over her for a year and became her friend, and all the hospice nurses who kept her comfortable in her final days.
A visitation will be held from 5-7PM Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Lakeland Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11AM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 with entombment to follow in the Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
