Charles Donald Stargel

July 12, 1942 ~ September 15, 2018 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

Charles Donald Stargel, born July 12, 1942 in a farm house at Webb’s Cross Roads, Kentucky to James and Mary Stargel. He was the seventh son, and the eleventh of twelve children. He was a jack-of-all trades and was a certified a/c repairman, plumber, electrician, and auto mechanic to name a few. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Johnson Controls in Tampa for almost 25 years. He was married to Cynthia Susan Rexroat for 56 years and they had 4 boys: Charles (Sherri) Stargel, John (Kelli) Stargel, Daniel (Rachel) Stargel , James (Stacy) Stargel. They have 9 grandsons and 9 granddaughters: Rebekah, Amanda (Adam Palmer), Victoria, Rachel, Robert, Mary Hannah, Evan, Andrew (Delaney), Laura, Isaac, Benjamin, Micah, Eli, Caleb, Lily, Eliana, Uriah, and Elaisa; and two great-grandchildren: Austin and Cadence Palmer.

His four sons, all college graduates, see what they do every day as ministering for God and serving their fellow man-- a doctor, a judge, an actor and a minister. Charles and Cyndi’s family legacy has produced four military service members (including 2 US Army officers and a graduate of the US Naval Academy), three teachers, an intelligence analyst, an international missionary (and over a dozen who have participated in short term missions), a nurse, a first responder, and several small business owners are among those who all serve their communities every day. Charles attended two years at Campbellsville College before leaving to work full-time to support his family. Charles and Cyndi stressed the importance of education to their children and grandchildren--eleven are college graduates, three are currently attending college, and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren are continuing to grow and learn so they can make their mark on the world.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NIV)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
A visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:30-7:30PM at the Lakeland Funeral Home. A Celebration of LIfe will be held at 10AM Thursday, September 20, 2018 also in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa.
