Charles Jackie Pope “Jack”, 86, of Cedar Key, FL passed away May 20, 2018 in Lakeland, FL. Jack was born February 15, 1932 to parents Enoch Jackson and Maybelle Allen Pope in Homestead, FL.
He was a graduate of Homestead High School; from 1952 to 1954 he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, he dedicated his career to being a master electrician until his retirement in 1995. Jack had a passion for fishing, baseball, NASCAR, college football, was an avid reader, and took up painting in his 84th year of life. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife Anita Dietz Pope; second wife Eileen Molash Pope; sisters Hilda Pope and Evelyn Cason.
Left to treasure Jack’s memory are his children Robert Michael “Mickey” Pope, Donna Joyce Pope Lawley (David Clifton Lawley), Jody Alan Pope (Sandra Schell Pope) and Todd Anthony Pope (Star Moon Pope); grandchildren Matthew Clifton Lawley, Joshua Allen Lawley, Hannah Jean Lawley, Weston Alan Pope, Ryan Michael Pope, Rachel Elizabeth Pope, Aubrey Pope Espisito, Austin Pope and Mikayla Pope Zografas; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers maybe made in his name to Good Shepherd Hospice, 3470 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland, FL; The Fischer House; or Disabled Veterans of America.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
