Betty Lee Davis

Betty Lee Wilkins Davis of Lakeland, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 24 at the age of 78.  Born in Rock Haven, KY on September 13, 1941 to the late Evelyn and Wesley Wilkins, she was preceded in death by her seven brothers James, Earl, Roy, Wesley, Charles, Chester and Lester, and seven sisters Dorothy, Thelma, Lorene, Mary, Geneva, Alvina and Alberta. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Simard. Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Melvin Glen Davis, Sr., and four children, Glenda White, Pamela Brazell, Melvin Glen Davis, Jr., and Latisha Simard. Betty was "Mamaw" to eight grandchildren, Dana Childers (Justin), Scott White (Lindsay), Mitch White (Lindsay), Leah Hissem (Earl), Robbie Brazell (Brittany), Ryan Brazell (Savannah), Luke Simard and Kara Simard, and eleven great-grandchildren, Hailey (Kaydden), Cole, Clayton, Kadynce, Mason, Jenna, Westen, Abigail, Lylah, Sawyer, and Gavin. She was also a beloved Aunt Betty to many nieces and nephews.

Betty will be remembered for her amazing cooking skills, crafting and sewing abilities, and love for shopping. She made the best dumplings in the world! She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh and was a joy to be around. She cared about others immensely and always had to make sure everyone was happy. She loved being surrounded by her family and loved them all fiercely. Her presence on this Earth will be terribly missed; but we know she is rejoicing and healed in the arms of Jesus.

Services were held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Burial followed at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
