Elaine Schumacher was born May 6th, 1931, in Hurley Wisconsin, daughter of Charles and Bertha (Belmas) Kangas. She was the oldest of six children, along with Jean Mahnke, Robert Kangas (deceased), Dale Kangas, Charlene VanderPoorten and Paul Kangas.
On July 25th, 1953, Elaine married the love of her life, Richard Schumacher, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, along with their four children: John (Leslie) Schumacher, Jean (Philip) Baier, Judy (Scott) Stewart, Jill (Jim) Gibson, and also her nine grandchildren and spouses and 3 great-grandchildren.
Beginning piano lessons at the age of 4, Elaine used her exceptional musical talents for the glory of God and the enjoyment of many people. She won the High School Wisconsin State piano competition in 1949. Majoring in music she graduated with high honors from Concordia Lutheran College, River Forest Illinois, and received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Elaine joyfully and humbly served as organist and director of Music at churches in Wisconsin and Florida for over 65 years.

A visitation will be held 6-8PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Lakeland Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, FL on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11AM.
