Beatrice “Faye” Slusher, of Winchester, KY, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2021, in Lakeland, FL at the age of 81.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Albert Slusher; her children, Sheila Koerner and John Ennis (Linda); her brother, Reverend L David Hopper; her daughter in law, Lisa Ennis; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to list but much loved.

She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, James Edward Ennis; her parents, Walker Webb Hopper and Ethel Townsend Hopper; her brothers, Robert William Hopper, John Walker Hopper, and Jerry Ray Hopper; her son, James Walker Ennis.

A native of Clark County, Faye was born on March 24, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Walker Webb Hopper and Ethel Townsend Hopper. Some of us are lucky to fall in love once, Faye was lucky to fall in love twice. She met James Edward Ennis, they were married, and had three beautiful children. James passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 1968.

In 1971, Faye met Albert Slusher at a cookout, and they were married on September 3, 1971. They moved to Wauchula, FL in 1979. She graduated from South Florida Community College with a nursing degree in 1982 and worked as an LPN at Hardee Manor Healthcare Center. Faye and Al retired in 2003 and returned to KY. They decided to settle in Lakeland, FL in 2011. Faye became a resident of the Lakeland Hills Rehabilitation and Nursing Center 4 ½ years ago. On behalf of the Slusher Family, a special thank you to all the nursing staff for the kindness, loving care, and friendship you so freely gave.

Faye was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, and caring grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family, collecting angel figurines, reading and Yahtzee. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
