Anthony Joseph Liberti, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, passed away at his home at the age of 80, after a long fight with cancer. “Tony”, also known by many who loved him as “Herky”, was born in Rochester, NY on May 9, 1939 to Anthony Liberti and Bernice (Wojtczak) Liberti. He graduated from Madison H.S. and went on to attend SUNY at Brockport College. In 1992, he and his family moved to Lakeland, FL where he would eventually retire from Cox Automotive Group and continue to enjoy frequent visits to Siesta Key Beach, aka, his happy place, with his wife and children. Tony was well liked by everyone who met him due to his genuine, honest and upbeat personality. He was devoted to his family and spent his life providing for them in every way he could. Tony was deeply in love with his wife of 45 years and was an amazing, loving and supportive father and grandfather; the ultimate family man. He loved to make his family laugh by singing silly songs, flexing his non-existent muscles and telling his terrible “dad jokes”. Tony was truly a blessing to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was so very loved and will be greatly missed. Tony is preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Liberti, brother, Stephen Liberti and sister, Geraldine Mauro. He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Alessi) Liberti, daughter, Michele Greatens (Josh), adoring grandchildren, Kaden, Brady, Jax, Anthony, sister, Beverly Costanza (Al), many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and sons, Anthony and Patrick Liberti. Services will be held in Rochester, N.Y.; dates to follow.
