Andrew Charles LaFreniere

Andrew Charles Arthur Lafreniere, 82, of Mulberry went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital.

Born February 4, 1939. in Manchester, NH, he was the son of Armand Lafreniere and Eva Lafreniere. Andrew joined the US Navy in 1959 and worked as a deep-sea diver in the service and at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until 1989, retiring to Florida. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7, and also a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Preceeded in death by his parents and brother Paul Richard Lafreniere, he is survived by his wife of 48 years Marie Janet Lafreniere of Mulberry, FL; daughter Nico (Seth) Wind of Milwaukie, OR; daughter Kimberly McIntyre of Rochester, NH; son Willard (Janet) Lafreniere of N. Berwick, ME; daughter Michelle (Michael) Catalano of Lakeland, FL; two sisters Irene Couture of Manchester, NH; and Louise Olson of Punta Gorda, FL; brother Leo Lafreniere of Green Valley, AZ; 7 grandchildren: Sean McIntyre, Sonja Krygeris, Haley Lafreniere, Nicole Starkey, Gabriella Catalano, Jake Starkey and Jayden Catalano; and 3 great-grandchildren: Collin McIntyre, Addison McIntyre and Carson Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Andrew (Pépère to his family) enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cribbage and chess. He was able to fix anything that was broken and managed to make anything that was not broken even better. He was happy to greet those at church with a smile on Sunday mornings and always available to those that needed a helping hand. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and making them laugh.

Please join us in celebrating his life and all the gifts he was given which helped him to serve others. Services with be held at Heritage Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m.
