Andrew Bosko

July 11, 1921 ~ November 19, 2022 (age 101) 101 Years Old

Tribute



Andrew Bosko, one hundred one (101) years old of Lake Morton Plaza went to the Lord in Heaven on November 19, 2022. He was born on July 11,1921 in Rootstown Township, Ohio. He was the son of European immigrants John and Eva Pillar Bosko.

Andrew graduated from Youngsville Pennsylvania High School, the America Business School of Erie, PA and the apprenticeship school for Metal Engineering and Machining. Prior to joining the military, he worked two (2) years as a Tool Maker apprentice for Nation Forge Company. He was employed by Blackstone Corporation, Jamestown, NY as the Machine Shop Supervisor for thirty-eight (38) years.

Shortly after marrying Sophia Tutmaher he was drafted into the US Army Air Force. He served as a Sergeant, in the Headquarter Squadron 7th Fighter Command on the island of Iwo Jima. He was awarded two (2) bronze stars and an Honorable Discharge for his service.

He was married to Sophia Tutmaher Bosko (preceded in death) , on May 9, 1942, in St Joseph Church, Warren, PA. Survived by five (5) children: Carol Jean Cusimano (Fred deceased), Akron, OH; Donald (Linda) Bosko, Lakeland, Fl; Thomas (Karyn) Bosko, Cumming, GA; Andrew (Trudy) Bosko, Goodview, VA; David (Jeanette) Bosko, Warren, PA. The family tree includes seventeen (17) grandchildren and twenty-nine (29) great grandchildren.

He did voluntary work for the burrow of Chandlers Valley PA. He and Sophia retired in Sun City Center, FL where they participated in the Emergency Squad, Security Patrol, Consumer Affairs and VFW. He was a Mass Server for Prince of Peace Catholic Church. At the #1288 VFW Post he served as the Adjutant and Quartermaster.

He was preceded in death by grandsons Mark Cusimano and Donald Andrew Bosko. His seven brothers and three sisters preceded him death as well.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the Resurrection Catholic Church of Lakeland, FL . A viewing preceded the mass at 10:00 AM, at Resurrection Church Chapel.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.
