Lakeland, FL - Rodney Glenn Grove, age 63 peacefully gained his Heavenly wings surrounded by family in Lakeland FL. On April 12th, 2021. Mr. Grove was born in Canton, IL. on May 8, 1957. Rodney spent his childhood and much of his adult life in Kewanee, IL. During his time there, he worked at IME in Galva, and then Wanee Theatre. He graduated from Wethersfield high school in 1975. Rodney managed a vending business, Vendal for over 20 years where he enjoyed the people he served for many years. He met the love of his life, Suzanne McIntire, marrying her on April 15th 1978. As life went on, they went separate ways but continued to remain close. After many years in Kewanee, he moved to Florida and continued his career in vending at Florida Fresh.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents Glenn Grove and Barbara Newton Grove. He is survived by his daughter Renee Birkenbeuel (Jon), of Peru, IL. Son, Lance Grove of Kewanee, IL. Suzanne Grove of Kewanee, IL. Sisters, Gloria Danielson (Rob) of Bloomington, IL. Glenda Miller of Kewanee, IL. Brother Robert Grove of Lakeland, FL., One Grandson son who he was so very proud of; Drew Verway, currently active-duty Army stationed in Germany, one niece, 2 nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

He was an avid player of picks and golf; and was outstanding at both. He was president of a Kewanee Pick League for 15 years and earned several trophies during that time. He loved his family and friends dearly and has a wall adorned with a multitude of family photos that he treasured. Rodney had a smile that would light up a room and was loved by many. He attended all his children's sporting events and was a dedicated Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for his family. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at Woodforest National Bank 730 Tenney St. Kewanee, IL. 61443; made payable to Renee Birkenbeuel.

A celebration of life for Rodney Grove will be held in Kewanee, Illinois on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at 1:00 pm, at Windmont Park.
