Steven Daniel Moyer
1970 - 2017
Steven departed this world on October 10, 2017, at the age of 47, after a long battle with Spinal Bifida quietly at home.
Steven was pre-deceased by his father, James Moyer II and the love of his life, Kimberly. He is survived by his mother, Susan Bain (Lakeland), brother David Moyer, sister-in-law Naomi, one nephew, Judah and one niece, Ruth (Largo, Florida).
Steve was born on February 24, 1970, and was a lifelong resident of Lakeland, Florida.
He was a very proud 1989, graduate of Lake Gibson High where he was a member of the band. After graduation he attended Polk Community College and Traviss Technical Center. Steve worked for a short time for the City of Lakeland and Nextel. Steve loved being with people and did several volunteer activities and recently was serving on the Lakeland Alliance for Accessibility. He enjoyed sports and table games. He was a devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since the team was formed in 1976. He was a proud owner of a football signed by the original team. Steve wrote his own story and was working on getting it published at the time of his death. Many will remember him tooling around down town in his power chair always with a bright smile on his face.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 19, 2017, at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church on Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. The family is grateful for condolences but declines flowers. Donations may be made in Steven's name to the Adult Education department and or Scholarships at the First United Methodist Church 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801.
