Katherine Aususta Symons

Katherine “Kathy” Augusta Symons passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024. Kathy was born on April 15, 1948, in Brunswick, Georgia to Wilfred and Myrtice Symons. Along with older sister, Patricia, “Patsy”, the family moved to Lakeland Florida when Kathy was young.

Kathy attended Lakeland schools and graduated in 1966 from Lakeland High School. She then graduated from Palm Beach State College with her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1968. She continued in the field and was a dental hygienist for over 30 years.

Though Kathy never married, she found immense joy and fulfillment in her role as aunt to her niece, Kristi, and nephews, Brent, and Clay. Aunt Kathy was a remarkable woman full of grace, unwavering kindness, and gentle spirit. She approached life with a sense of curiosity, wonder, and courage.
More than just an aunt, Kathy was a cherished friend to many. With her warm smile and compassionate heart, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence brought comfort to all, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy, and her parents. She is survived by her niece and nephews and her 8 great nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love, compassion, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.

Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens has been entrusted with arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 2pm. All are welcome.
