Lakeland - Howard Spencer Harrison, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, February 18, 2018.
Born June 21, 1937, in Lakeland, FL, to Leon and Laura Harrison. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Judy Harrison.
Howard graduated from Lakeland High School in 1957. He worked in the phosphate industry for 35 years retiring as safety director.
He was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall.
He enjoyed fishing and golfing with good friends and creating memories in the Smokies with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Harrison.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy McLaughlin (Don) of Tallahassee and Kim Nix (Varn) of Lakeland; sisters, Carolyn (Johnnie) and Elizabeth; Grandchildren: Leanne Strawder (Seth), Haley McLaughlin, Luke Nix (Kelsey), Lance Nix, Heather Bishop (Nic) and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2125 S. Bartow Hwy., Lakeland, FL 33801.
