Ellen Margart Worsham

Ellen (Lipiec) Worsham passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 10, 2024, lovingly surrounded by family in Lakeland, Fl after a long and full life. She was 90 years of age.

Ellen was born in September 1933 to Peter and Rose Lipiec in Erie, Pennsylvania. In 1952, after high school, Ellen enlisted in the Navy, serving as a corpsman, and was honorably discharged in 1954. It was during that time, she met and married her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Worsham, who predeceased her in 2003. Together they raised three children while being stationed at various Naval bases located throughout the states, including Hawaii. Ellen was a devoted homemaker and very active in all aspects of her children’s lives, from their education, to sports, Scouts, and much more.

Ellen was a retired nurse and she proudly graduated in 1977 from the College of Nursing at Baptist College (now known as Charleston Southern University) in Charleston, South Carolina where she worked and lived for more than 40 years.

Ellen loved painting ceramics and Santa ceramics were her favorite. In addition to her Santa collection, she collected plates from all over the world. Ellen also enjoyed gardening and reading.

Ellen is survived by her three children, Roberta Worsham, Robert Worsham II (Annette, and Michael Worsham (Cindy), 10 grandchildren, and 10+ great-grandchildren, and at least a dozen step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

The services for Ellen will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. In lieu of flowers, please donate to her favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project and Toys for Tots.
