Edward Melvin "Bee" Murphy, II, passed away on April 13, 2024.

Services will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Monday, April 22, 2024. Visitation from 10 AM - 11 AM, service at 11 AM.

Edward Melvin (Bee) Murphy II passed away on April 13, 2024. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on February 26, 1943 to Edward M. Murphy and Jimmie Lee Touchton Murphy. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1962. He married Linda K. Nail in 1964. He began his 40 year railroading career in 1963 with Atlantic Coast Line which became CSX. He was a carman, switchman, conductor/train master, remote control engineer, and retired in 2003.
Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, his son Darrin Mark (Jeannette), his daughter Allison Leigh (David) Meadows, grandsons Brandon Mark Murphy and Jared Mychal Murphy and several cousins.
Eddie loved his family, his many friends, The Ridge Mall Railroad Club, the Tampa Bay Rays, feeding the squirrels and birds in his yard and Fred’s restaurant.

The family would like to say thank you for the support we have received from family and friends. The prayers, food and cards have been such a blessing to us.
