Charles Edward Palmer, 88, of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2018. He was born in Schenectady, NY on January 6, 1929 to parents Charles Albert and Margit Johannessen Palmer.
Chuck was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Scotia, NY for 32 years before retiring to Spring Hill, FL in 1989. He was an active Rotarian, both in Scotia and Spring Hill. Many folks knew him through his work with the Presbyterian Church Bicycle Ministry. He moved to Lakeland in 2011.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jean Craig Palmer and infant son Craig Palmer. Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife of 21 years Betty Kitts Palmer; daughter Brenda Palmer and her fiance David O'Leary of Venice, FL; son Charles A. Palmer and his wife Nancy of Clifton Park, NY; granddaughter Kristen Palmer Strock (Nick), grandson Alex Palmer, and great-grandson Hunter Strock; stepson Danny Adams and his wife Jan; and sister Lillian Haldeman.
A visitation will be held 9 AM on Tuesday Jan. 9, 2018 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 210 Poppell Dr, Lakeland, FL 33813 with a funeral service to follow at 10AM. Burial will be in the Florida Hills Memorial Garden in Spring Hill at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Covenant Presbyterian Church Renovation Fund in his honor.
